A super easy and healthy smoothie to start the day that the whole family will like!
Smoothie's have become a daily ritual in our house. They seem to be the perfect snack to have just before leaving the house, as were a house of early risers the kids usually have a very early breakfast so are hungry again by 8 or 9 just as i'm trying to get them out of the house. Instead of resorting to quick snacks that might not full them up for long I find smoothies a great way to get a couple of portions of vegetables and fruit in them and hydrate them at the same time.
We usually change our smoothies every few months once everyone has got a little bored but this one seems to be hanging around, it's sweet but also packed with nutrients and tastes a little tropical which the kids love!
Good morning smoothie recipe:
Serves usually 1 adult and 2 small children, if the children let me drink any!
1 x medium banana
handful of frozen pineapple
handful of fresh kale
thumb size chunk of cucumber
1 tbsp chia seeds
half oat milk (or other milk of your choice) and half water to fill up smoothie cup
Also great with a little know of fresh ginger, especially if anyone is coming down with a cold!
Method:
Add all ingredients to smoothie mixer and blend until smooth
